Ever since Charlie was put down, there has been a void at my in-laws house. He was such a big presence that, when he was gone, it was really felt. For over a year Earl and Dawn have been absent a boxer of their own. Until last week.
My Earl called to tell me that they had a new dog. Just like that! He was rescued from the side of Griffith Road in Miami and they got him at the Humane Society. He is a brindle boxer and spent the first day quiet as a mouse. Not even a peep! In each successive picture we have seen of him, we are watching him grow and get accustomed to this being his home. We watch him (through the pictures) feel safe and happy. It is pretty amazing to see. We don't know if he was abused, but he was certainly shy and a little scared when he went home with them. But now he is growing to love his new home.
Psalm 113 says: He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap, that He may seat him with princes - with the princes of His people. He grants the barren woman a home, like a joyful mother of children. Bull's Eye was almost sent to another home, but he was a gruff man and the lady working at the Humane Society decided to place Bull's Eye in the Mergelsberg home. I can't imagine a better home for this poor and needy 10 month old dog. They will love him and treat him fairly. We can't wait to meet him!
